Trent McFarland Named Entertainer & Barrel Man for 2020 SLE Rodeo

MONTGOMERY, Ala. — River Region resident and nationally-acclaimed rodeo entertainer Trent McFarland will take to the arena dirt as the featured rodeo clown and barrel man at the 63rd annual Southeastern Livestock Exposition (SLE) Rodeo to be held March 19-21, 2020 at Garrett Coliseum in Montgomery, Alabama.

McFarland grew up traveling the rodeo circuit in the shadow of his father, a retired clown who taught his son about the business. On his website, www.TrentMcFarland.com, Trent said, “When most dads are teaching their sons how to hit a baseball or throw a football, my dad was teaching me how to put on makeup.” He did his first show as a child and has spent his entire career performing at rodeos across the nation.

“I just enjoy helping others and making people laugh,” he said. “If I can take those people who know what hard times are and give them two hours to relax, forget about their problems and enjoy themselves with quality family entertainment, then I feel like I’ve done my job.”

McFarland’s resume is lined with references from industry professionals he has worked with throughout his career including 2019 National Finals Rodeo (NFR) Rodeo Announcer likely Andy Stewart and PRCA Professional Bullfighter Blue Jeanes, among others.

His act includes trick roping, bull whips, comedy and skits featuring props from industry-renowned rodeo clown Lecile Harris.
